  • BLUF

Prismatic: An Audio Series was an independent, Black and queer-led podcast that centered women’s voices in order to explore identity, culture, and democracy.

As Executive Producer and Host, I shaped the creative vision, led content development, and executed post-production to deliver an authentic, immersive, and thought-provoking audio experience.

  • Mission

Inspired by a prism’s ability to transform white light into a full spectrum of color, Prismatic illuminated the depth and vibrancy of marginalized stories—amplifying underrepresented voices in social justice, politics, art, and activism.

  • Outcomes

Through intentional storytelling alongisde in-depth interviews and research, Prismatic carved out a dedicated audience that valued nuanced dialogue and bold, intersectional perspectives. The series cultivated a strong community of listeners invested in conversations that challenged, educated, and inspired action.

  • Impacts

Prismatic stood as a testament to the power of independent media, proving that authentic, community-driven storytelling has the ability to shift perspectives, elevate voices, and drive meaningful dialogue. The podcast influenced public discourse and provided a creative space where radical ideas could thrive.

Key Contributions

indie MEDIA  tactics

Producing an independent, high-quality audio series without major network backing required a resourceful, hands-on approach. As a Black, queer-led, and women-centered production, Prismatic aimed to amplify underrepresented voices while maintaining full creative control—demanding strategic funding, distribution, and audience building.

Managing a lean production team meant overseeing everything from research and scripting to recording, editing, and promotion while ensuring a compelling, immersive listener experience. The brand identity also needed to reflect its mission—like a prism refracting light into a spectrum of colors, Prismatic sought to reveal new perspectives, challenge dominant narratives, and celebrate complexity.
